PROJECTS

RECENT PROJECTS OF THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL

The community council of Lemythou has already completed many infrastructure and embellishment projects within the frame of its attempts to develop the community. Someofthemarethefollowing:

  1. Construction of road from Pyrikkis house towards Loucas Koutsou road.
  2. Construction of cement footpath from Loucas Koutsou house towards Papas house
  3. Anti-flood projects in different parts of the village
  4. The footpath from Asprogenis until Parperis house was paved with slabs
  5. Cleaning of roads and trails
  6. Cleaning of nature trail from Pano (upper) water tank towards Karlettena’s bore for water
  7. The footpath from the church towards the former primary School was paved with slabs. Expenses of Adonis Papadopoulos.   
  8. Renovation and betterment of Virgin Mary’s Holy Water site and the trail leading to it was partially paved with slabs. Expenditure of Lemyhtou Friends’ and Expatriates’ Association.
  9. Conservation and betterment of rural heritage projects. Co-funded by the EU scheme and the Republic of Cyprus (stone channel, water tanks, founts, burrows)
  10.  Construction of supporting walls at the beginning of the footpath starting from Leventis house leading towards the Holy Water site of Virgin Mary the Healer.
  11. Amelioration of the central road within the community, expenditure of Public Works Department.
  12. Continuation of the cement road construction towards Savvas Phedonos house, near Kontos River
  13. Installation of cement pipes in the creek between Ntinos Poniros’s and Kostakis Georgiou land, at Vryssi area within the community

 

PROJECTS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

    1. Paving the footpath from Leventis house leading to the Holy Water site of Virgin Mary with slabs
    2. The house of Leventis family is being restored for the third year. Expenditure of A.G. Leventis Foundation
    3. Opening and amelioration of a nature trail from Leventis house towards the chapel of Saint George in Agros area. This project is promoted by Lemyhtou Friends’ and Expatriates’ Association through the European Program
    4. Renovation and betterment of community buildings (night school, surgery and former butchery)

FUTURE PROJECTS

  1. Embellishment of the road from the church to Serkis house
  2. Installation of protective fence along the footpath towards the former Priamry School
  3. Pave the footpath from Parperis house towards Maroulia Athanati with slabs
  4. Utilisation of the plot of land purchased for the community needs (place for events, council offices, parking space, youth centre a.o.)
  5. Preparation of directive plan (general development plan for Lemythou)
  6. Recreation and embellishment of the former community abattoir place. EU Program
  7. Amelioration of the road from Sergis Bridge towards Maroulla Athanasiou house
  8. Construction of road map within the community
  9. Continuation of embellishment projects along the main road towards the exit of the village
  10. Betterment and cleaning of footpaths, rivers and roads
  11. Widening and betterment of the central road of the community
  12. Embellishment of the walls within the community with stone
